Goat and Lamb Yoga at PVAS

With sunny days returning to us at last, it’s the perfect time to book for our fundraising Goat and Lamb Yoga sessions!

Meet Lily goat, Bertie sheep and so many more, while being guided through a relaxing, simple yoga session with a fully qualified instructor.

You don’t have to be good at yoga to come along – it is suitable for all ages and abilities, the only pre-requisite is an ability to provide pats to the many friendly paddock animals who will be keen to meet you!

New Arrival at PVAS - Mia Possum

 By Chris R.

Little Mia the possum arrived in the Valley in mid-winter. She was raised by one of the amazing rehabilitators at WA Wildlife, and is very fond of people. A soft release of Mia on site at WA Wildlife saw her returning to people for attention, which was a little concerning for clinic staff, so it was decided Mia could come to the Valley for a soft release. Here she could safely roam around the buildings without fear of vehicles.

On a sunny Sunday, a team of WA Wildlife volunteers bundled up Mia, along with her soft release aviary, and built her new soft-release home amongst the marri trees. Mia’s nest box was popped in, along with lots of branches and treats, so she could settle before being given access to the outside forest.

Mia is doing really well in the Valley, returning for dinner and attention whenever she wishes. Her favourite treats - blueberries and almonds - are sometimes hidden in nearby tree foliage, which she enjoys seeking out. Stay safe Mia – you are a special little possum!

New Arrival at PVAS - Ginger Goat

Ginger Goat arrived in the Valley last month, thanks to the kind rangers at the Shire of Mundaring.

She is a young goat, and quite a gymnast, escaping her yard regularly to visit neighbours.

Sadly, Ginger’s property was going to be sold, so her owner agreed she could come to the Valley to be with goat friends.

Ginger is playful and loves people. She is a regular participant in volunteer morning teas, and is able to jump the tallest fences in a single bound!

Ginger has made great friends with Bertie Sheep and Bucky Goat since her arrival, and we are pleased she is settling in so beautifully!
