Halos for Paws...and Hooves!

By Chris R.

Last week a very special parcel arrived – a ‘Halo Vest’ for Pearl the lamb.

Pearl was born blind. She came to the Valley at just a week old, unable to stand and walk, and nervous of her unknown surrounds. With encouragement and support from us and Lucas the lamb, Pearl was soon up on her hooves. She learned to navigate her way around the lounge room, but outdoors Pearl would often just sit, cautious of bumping into something.

Seeing the success of the Halo Vest for a sheep at Edgar's Mission, we were keen to see if it could help Pearl gain her confidence outdoors. Through a gift from a special donor, and help from the amazing Halos for Paws people, a vest was soon on the way.

Pearl is comfortable in her vest. It is very lightweight and she is able to eat, drink and snooze while wearing it.

We would like to say a special thank you to Halos for Paws for this amazing product. Please look them up and share with anyone who may know of a blind animal in need of some support – see http://www.halosforpaws.com/ .
