Riverway Chalets – A Sanctuary for People and Animals

By Chris R.

Our latest rescue mission led us to the beautiful south west of W.A., with a dairy cow to be collected from the small town of Northcliffe. Mrs Jers was the reason for our trip. She is a young heifer who made her way to Riverway Chalets from a neighbouring dairy farm. The amazing team at Riverway wanted Mrs Jers to start a new life and coordinated for her to come to Possum Valley.

Riverway Chalets has it all – amazing accommodation, forest views, animals aplenty and most importantly, wonderful warm hospitality. The sounds of the karri forest fill the air, complimented by the distant vocalisations of the many rescued animals on the property, including sheep, cows, chickens and horses. The Chalets are managed and run by Leonie and Dwayne and their daughters Grace and Zoe. Riverway Chalets is an ethical and environmentally aware business.

Unfortunately our visit was only for one night, but we could have stayed for weeks, exploring the many bush trails which traverse the property, featuring wildflowers, birds and glimpses of shy wildlife in the shadows.

A big thank you to the Riverway Crew for looking after us and Mrs Jers so beautifully.  Be sure to check them out for your next holiday!
